Dmitry Onishchenko is a Doctor of Engineering, Professor of the E-2 Department at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Director of the Scientific & Educational Centre 'Piston Engine Engineering and Special Equipment', Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Board for Piston Engine Engineering Development of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
He graduated from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University with honours in 1999, with a major in Internal Combustion Engines. In 2003, he defended his Ph.D. thesis 'Study on the thermal state of diesel engine parts in a three-dimensional model using experimental boundary conditions'. In 2013, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis 'Improvement of efficient and environmental diesel engine indicators and reduction of thermal loads on its main parts'.
He is a holder of the 'Young Candidate' grant of the Russian Federation (for the best postgraduate work), the 'New Generation' award of RAO UES of Russia, the 'Young Doctor' presidential grant.
He teaches the courses 'ICE Scientific Research Fundamentals', 'Power Units for Special Purpose Vehicles' and 'Power Units for Ground Vehicles and Technology Facilities'.
Since 2013, he has been managing the 'FORMULA STUDENT' team (www.baumanracing.ru).
