Presentation of Krasnoyarsk Technologic Valley
Developing and creating advanced production facilities to produce high value-added products from aluminium and aluminium alloys is one of the most important tasks of the Aluminium Association. That is why the Association supports the large-scale project 'Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley', which will provide support for newly created companies there, including those related to deep processing of aluminium. The Krasnoyarsk Technological Value special economic zone was officially created in accordance with the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 29, 2020.
The Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley will be located on six specially designated sites that are located in close proximity to the Krasnoyarsk Metallurgical Plant (KraMZ) and the Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter, which expands opportunities for cooperation between future SEZ residents and existing production facilities, reducing logistics and other costs. The territory with a total area of 247.4 hectares has necessary engineering infrastructure facilities that can be used by potential residents to implement investment projects.
Creating the special economic zone is intended to implement and develop the socio-economic, scientific, personnel, production and technological potential of the Krasnoyarsk Territory's regions and the macro-region of Yenisei Siberia in the interests of all residents.
The Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley SEZ has the following purposes:
Reducing production and operating costs, support by the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory for new investment projects, proximity to primary aluminium and semis producers — Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ) and Krasnoyarsk Metallurgical Plant (KraMZ), access to emerging markets and supplies of low-carbon aluminium — are additional advantages for starting new projects.
Localising production facilities in the Valley will open up the opportunity for investors to reduce project implementation costs and use relevant resources more efficiently.
The project concept involves developing production of semis and high value-added products using aluminium for aviation and aerospace industries, automotive industry, mechanical engineering, power, construction and other industries, consumer goods; as well as the possibility of supplying liquid metal and alloys for new production facilities. It is possible to implement other industrial and production projects.
The created advanced industrial facilities, including those for deep processing of aluminium, will create new jobs and increase the share of high-tech products manufactured in the region. All this will contribute to improving the investment climate in the region, increasing the tax base, cooperation between scientific and industrial centres of the region, and, consequently, the socio-economic development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in general.
Current status:
Five anchor residents have already confirmed their participation in the new SEZ, and they plan to implement six investment projects for the production of aluminium products and mechanical engineering.
Prospects:
It is planned to create at least 1,300 jobs and invest more than RUB 16 bln by 2030.
We invite Russian and foreign companies to implement new investment projects for production of aluminium products in the Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley!
