Moscow, August 16. Increasing the efficiency of production facilities, contributing to the improvement of working conditions and the growth of average salaries, is possible with the active implementation of modern business processes and production technologies. This opinion was expressed during the meeting on operational research organised by the Aluminium Association at the production site of GC Moskabelmet.
One of the leading manufacturers of cable and wire products in Russia told the participants of event about the results of implementing advanced IT solutions in the field of optimisation of quality control, logistics, and cost reduction.
'Today we are using implemented special control systems, also using IP telephony and electronic document management, and introducing barcoding of products. The main goal is to bring the rejects level from the current hundredths of a percent to zero,' said Pavel Moryakov, CEO of GC Moskabelmet.
The new activities area of the Aluminium Association 'Operational Research' includes measures on internal audit of production, improvement of communication between suppliers and consumers of aluminium, including on product quality, cost reduction and shortening time of shipment of the products to final suppliers. So, the practice of implementing business systems at the wheel manufacturing plants in the Krasnoyarsk region enabled the SKAD and K&K plants to significantly increase the production rates.
In addition, for example, the introduction of the 'Business Systems' training programme (BS Programme) as part of training employee pool at the Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter allowed them to improve the competence level of specialists and stimulate the growth of the average salary at the production facility (now it exceeds RUB 60 thousand). Within the programme course candidates get familiar with all production chains of the production facility: from arrival of raw materials to obtaining finished products. In addition, during the training, the candidates are more focused on the business needs and the strategic goals of the company, and can fully realise their potential.
'On the basis of the Aluminium Association, it is possible and necessary to accumulate knowledge and expertise for implementing initiatives to improve production processes at the production facilities of the industry and partners of our organisation. Reducing costs, minimising rejects, motivating personnel to constantly learn new competencies — this set of measures will allow supplying better products to the market. And specialists will be able to constantly improve their professional skills,' said Valentin Trishchenko, the Chairman of the Aluminium Association.
