The Aluminium Association took part in the annual conference of the RADOR Association on the development of the regional road network. The Russian Ministry of Transport and the Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) supported the event. The conference was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, territorial road management bodies, industry associations, as well as scientific, educational, industrial and design organizations.
The participants discussed a wide range of issues, including summing up preliminary results of the implementation of the 'Safe Quality Roads' national project, prospects for the development of the road network, regulatory and legal regulation in the field of road management, as well as the use of innovative materials and technologies.
ALUMS Group, a member of the Aluminium Association, presented information on the prospects of using pre-fabricated aluminium-based structures for the development of transport infrastructure. Special attention was paid to the mobile 'Bus Station', which, according to the conference participants, should significantly improve service quality and comfort in the regions.
According to Rosavtodor's plans, by 2030 our country should have more than 160 multifunctional road service zones (MFZs), which in addition to gas stations can include cafes, playgrounds, shopping facilities (including pharmacies), service stations and motels.
The new MFZs can be constructed using pre-fabricated aluminium solutions. The use of innovative pre-fabricated aluminium solutions will contribute to the integrated development of our road network, automobile and domestic tourism, as well as increase the level of comfort for all road users. Aluminium can be used for the construction of covered parking lots, car service stations, charging stations for electric vehicles, gas stations, medical and shopping centres, as well as hotels.
Today, Russian companies are ready to offer the market modern pre-fabricated solutions that allow for quick and efficient installation of such objects. Expensive design and expertise are not required, enabling construction to begin quickly while also connecting the necessary equipment at the same time. Thus, an object comparable to capital construction buildings is erected in a matter of weeks with minimal equipment and manpower.
Aluminium, which is resistant to corrosion and easy to use, enables a significant reduction in the costs associated with the ongoing operation of the structure. Metal constructions do not need frequent maintenance or repainting while retaining their high aesthetic qualities over time. If necessary, the object can be dismantled and reused elsewhere.
Aluminium-based pre-fabricated structures are popular and effectively used across various parts of our country, ranging from the harsh climates of the North to the coastal areas with marine climates.
The accompanying pre-fabricated aluminium alloy transportation infrastructure is also a fully localised technology and production chain. Pre-fabricated structures are used for the construction of transport hubs, bus stations, railway stations, bus stops, cargo terminals, sorting centres, administrative and residential complexes, etc.
