05.06.2023 - Aluminium Association
Aluminium Association and HeliCom (Almaty, Kazakhstan) agreed to jointly implement a project to create, promote and sell unique air transport infrastructure facilities in the CIS and other countries. The parties signed the relevant memorandum during the HeliRussia 2023 International Helicopter Industry Exhibition held in Moscow.
In accordance with the document, the Russian party intends to ensure the production and supply of fast-erecting prefabricated aluminium aerodrome/vertex pavement and other necessary products manufactured by the companies - members of the Association. In its turn, HeliCom is ready to manufacture and supply modular airfield/vertex buildings of factory readiness, equipped with electrical lighting, radio, meteorological and other equipment.
Russian and Kazakh specialists will also join efforts to provide design and engineering support, legalisation and certification of products sold in Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries.
The project roadmap is expected to be approved in August this year.
The aviation infrastructure made of prefabricated aluminium structures can withstand multiple movements with characteristics comparable to similar modern capital buildings, but with delivery and erection times 8-10 times shorter.
Point infrastructure does not belong to the objects of capital construction and does not require costly procedures, time and money during erection, guarantees the most gentle impact on the environment. It should be noted that an integrated approach and the creation of point infrastructure expands the range of helicopters' application in solving various tasks and increases the efficiency of air delivery vehicles by 50-100%.
Spot aviation transport infrastructure facilities are one of the new and promising areas of activity of the Aluminium Association. Fast-erecting aluminium structures such as landing pads and frame and tent hangars are ideal for infrastructure deployment in hard-to-reach and remote areas.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prefabricated aluminium helipads are a popular solution for the development of transport infrastructure in remote and inaccessible areas where it is difficult to build permanent facilities.
More than a dozen platforms designed and manufactured at the Krasnoyarsk SEGAL foundry and press plant (part of the SIAL group of companies, a member of the Aluminium Association) have been installed in different regions of Russia.
The interest in aluminium mobile coverings is primarily due to their relatively light weight and the possibility of quick installation.
For example, a set of basic coating (SA01), designed for helicopters with a maximum take-off weight of up to 60 tonnes, can be deployed by a team of four installers in just four hours without the use of heavy machinery and special equipment.
