The project by the Aluminium Association called 'Furniture for outdoor recreational areas, public and private, using aluminium' has reached the final of the 'Design Factory 3.0' competition in the 'Industrial Design' category. The jury highly praised the aesthetics, functionality, reliability, and innovation of the furniture made with aluminium.
The Aluminium Association places a high emphasis on the advancement of industrial design. As part of the Association, a dedicated Industrial Design sector was established to foster effective communication between manufacturers of aluminium solutions and designers.
The Russian Design/SOLARTS studio has created a design concept for outdoor furniture, blending cutting-edge trends in industrial design with the distinctive aesthetic of Russian Design. Rostok is the name of a line of furniture made of aluminium. It includes benches, deckchairs, outdoor sofas, and even swings. According to the designers, the bionic design concept was inspired by a young sprout ('rostok' in Russian). The characteristic feature of these items is that they have only one support. Therefore, to achieve the highest possible strength, it is essential to use lightweight structures made from aluminium alloys.
Today, our country is experiencing a rapid growth in internal tourism and the hospitality industry. This, in turn, has led to a rise in demand for durable, lightweight furniture designed for tourists and hospitality facilities. In this field, aluminium has next to no rivals due to its unique properties. Aluminium, especially with anodising treatment, is a durable material that does not corrode and can withstand exposure to salt. This makes it a great choice for coastal applications. Additionally, aluminium can be decorated with any materials and painted in a wide range of colours, allowing for a wide range of design options.
