08.10.2024 | Aluminium Association
As part of the business agenda of the 9th 100+ TechnoBuild International Construction Forum and exhibition, the Aluminium Association together with INICIAL organised three sessions. The experts from the Aluminium Association and its member companies shared their insights on the market for glazed structures. They discussed the market's growth and the changing consumer demands for facades and windows. They also highlighted the most promising products and modern methods of aluminium treatment. Furthermore, they discussed the use of parametric approach in the design of self-supporting aluminium mesh structures.
The event was attended by developers, designers, architects, providers of materials and technologies, as well as representatives of government agencies and the scientific community.
According to experts, the current volume of aluminium consumption for glazed structures is approximately 180,000 metric tonnes per year, accounting for 24% of the Russian window market. There is also a long-term upward trend in the market for aluminium glazed structures. They are being widely used in buildings, and lately not only of business and premium class, but also, to some extent, of the economy segment. The major changes in the market over the past 20 years have been caused by the significant development of construction technologies and the shifting needs of consumers. Modern glazed structures boast significantly better heating engineering, larger dimensions with reduced frame thickness, greater usability, integrated elements of climate systems and smart homes, and a long service life.
Due to its unique properties, aluminium meets the requirements of a closed-loop economy and the principles of green construction better than any other material. Aluminium is lightweight, affordable, energy efficient, aesthetic and environmentally friendly. The construction market is full of promising aluminium-based solutions. Some of them are the modular construction technology, glazing systems and wall panels. They help reduce the construction time by 4-6 months, as well as lower the cost of glazing. Self-supporting outer panels made of hard aluminium alloys are also an attractive option.
Experts highlighted the significant role of aluminium in shaping current trends and technologies in construction and architecture. Aluminium provides a lot of room for creativity in world-class complex architectural projects. Aluminium solutions are widely used for the construction of transport infrastructure (airport buildings, metro stations and BCL), residential and commercial buildings, schools and kindergartens, stadiums, sports grounds etc.
Presentations were made by Lilia Bazygina (Bearing Systems LLC), Vera Sinelshchikova (RPO Albes), Alexander Volokitin (Aluminium Association), Dmitry Golenda (Aluminium Association), Artem Myakotkin (TBM), and Ilya Bartosh (INICIAL).
As part of the official reception held by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region to highlight the International Construction Forum and 100+ TechnoBuild exhibition, colleagues from Politekhstroy-Svargo JSC received an award for the best innovative project, 'Aviation-Grade Aluminium for Glazed Structures at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg'. We extend our congratulations to them and wish them new professional successes!
