Moscow, January 29. The creation of regional 'road maps' can accelerate the implementation of the 'Action plan for the development of the aluminium industry for 2018-2023' approved by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak and become one of the drivers of consumption growth of 'winged' metal in the construction industry of Russia. Such a proposal was made by the participants of the strategic meeting of 'Construction' Sector of the Aluminium Association, where a set of measures to promote the use of aluminium in construction and infrastructure projects was discussed.
The global consumption of aluminium in the construction sector is 23 million tonnes, while Russia's share is only about 350 thousand tonnes per year, which does not correspond to the country's potential. In turn, the competence of domestic companies, their production capacities are able to provide the construction market with modern products and materials that are fully consistent with global quality standards.
As part of the action plan for the development of the aluminium industry until 2023, the members of the Aluminium Association are ready to present to the regional authorities the current opportunities of aluminium production facilities to create and implement projects in the field of road and railway infrastructure, house building and improving the urban environment. Solutions for health and education will be demonstrated as part of programmes: typical buildings of schools, kindergartens, open and roofed stadiums, helipads for medical organisations, hospitals, etc.
Another topic of the meeting was the upcoming forum 'Aluminium in Architecture and Construction' (AlumForum), which will be held as part of the Russian construction week 'Rosbuild 2019'. During the 4-day work of the Forum, an extensive business programme is planned for the key tasks faced by the aluminium industry. During the round tables and panel discussions, topical issues of improving the regulatory framework and state regulation, the use of new technologies in different sectors of industry will be raised. Exhibition visitors will be able to see the expositions of items made using aluminium, as well as in the context of 'Aluminium in Architecture' contest.
'The Aluminium Association is ready to act as a consolidating link for launching projects that can give a new impetus to the development of the industry. The creation of 'road maps' and the subsequent implementation of projects will have a positive impact on both the aluminium industry and the industry and economy of the country as a whole', said Valentin Trishchenko, the Head of the Aluminium Association.
