HEAD OF THE ALUMOCHEMISTRY SECTOR
'The industry cannot make progress without the development of technologies, and without aluminium finding new uses in new products and solutions. For our sector, the top priority is improving the performance and properties of the metal'
Yuri Rulev has been UC RUSAL's Project Manager in Chemistry of Aluminium and Energy since 2017. He is in charge of project development aimed at increasing aluminium consumption in the petrochemical industry, oil and gas industry, cable production, as well as promotion of Company products in new markets, and efforts to find new ideas and partners to implement them.
Prior to joining UC RUSAL, Yuri was a researcher at INEOS RAS, where he developed new catalyst systems for various 'green chemistry' processes. He also worked at the Green Chemistry Centre at York University in the UK under an international grant.
In 2013, he graduated from the Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in Medical Chemistry. In 2017, he was awarded with the Candidate of Sciences degree from INEOS RAS in Organic Chemistry after completing a remote study to identify new catalyst systems for trapping CO2.
